Connect with football peers, share experiences, and help create positive change in the sport.
Bonito Foundation is one of five recipients of the Flutter Tech4Good Awards 2025 — a programme recognising organisations using technology to increase access to physical activity. We're really happy to be a part of this, and wanted to share a bit about what the project actually is.
A big thank you to Beyond Sport and Flutter for this recognition and for the support that comes with it.
The project we submitted is focused on blind football coaching. The idea is straightforward: blind football is a sport that changes lives, but coaches working in the space often do it with limited resources and little connection to others doing the same work. The Blind Football Coaching Hub is a digital platform that brings those coaches together, building a community where people can share what they know and learn from each other.
The Blind Football Coaching Hub will be part of the Bonito Hub – a digital clubhouse we're beginning to launch this month, where coaches, volunteers and Football for Good practitioners from around the world can connect, share knowledge, receive training and plug into the wider sport for development community.
We wouldn't have been able to make the case for this project, or the video above, without Blind Football Uganda. Jagwe Muzafaru and his team gave us extraordinary material to work with and, more than that, showed exactly why this kind of infrastructure matters. Their work is remarkable, and it deserves more visibility and more support than it currently gets.
This project is one step towards that. We hope to keep working with them and finding other ways to contribute as things develop.
Beyond the financial support, what the Tech4Good programme offers is capacity-building – help with the less glamorous side of making something sustainable. That's genuinely useful for an organisation at our stage.
We're also glad to be in the company of the other recipients. The full cohort – including the winner GoodGym along with our co-runners-up Civic Dollars, Social Innovation Sports, and Xiborg – is worth reading about. Different problems, different approaches, same underlying conviction that technology should be in service of people who need it.
We'll share more about the Hub launch and what comes next over the coming weeks.
